North Carolina to host Tennessee in ACC/SEC Challenge

After 23 seasons and serving as the longest-running interconference men's basketball series, the ACC/Big Ten Challenge is no more.
Instead, the ACC has teamed up with the SEC to host a yearly challenge between the two conferences.
With the first ever ACC/SEC Challenge taking place in 2023, CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reported that North Carolina will host Tennessee.
The Tar Heels will welcome the Volunteers to Chapel Hill on Nov. 29th.
North Carolina and Tennessee have faced off 12 times, with the Tar Heels compiling a 10-2 record overall. They most recently met in 2021, when the Volunteers won, 89-72, to snap a five game losing streak in the series.
Armando Bacot and RJ Davis are the only current players to appear in the contest, highlighting the true offseason change for the Tar Heels.
Tennessee last visited Chapel Hill in 2016, falling 73-71 to the eventual National Champions.
North Carolina is now set to play the Volunteers, either Kentucky or UCLA, and take part in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament during the non-conference slate.
