UCLA Women's Basketball: Bruins Star Unpacks Senegalese Hoops Clinic

All-Pac-12 UCLA Bruins sophomore point guard Kiki Rice is already using her platform on one of the best programs in the women's college basketball game to give back.

During a fresh cover story interview with Taylor Winter Wilson of Galore, the 5'11" star explained how she and somne teammate , along with “The West Project,” helped orchestrated a hoops clinic in Senegal for young girls.

“Last summer, me and my teammates had the incredible opportunity to travel to Senegal and host a basketball clinic for young girls and explore the country. It was a very rewarding experience on so many levels," Rice revealed. "My favorite memory from this experience was the connection I made with the girls as I taught them the fundamentals of basketball. Witnessing their enthusiasm, determination, and joy as they learned and played was truly inspiring. It reminded me of the universal language of sport and the power it has to bring people together, regardless of backgrounds or circumstances. It was a really special opportunity and a memory I will cherish forever. “

Following the summer, the San Francisco native helped lead the team to its second straight Sweet Sixteen appearance since her tenure began with the program during the 2022-23 season as a five-star recruit. This year, she averaged a career-high 13.2 points on .449/.312/.876 shooting splits, 5.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.5 blocks per bout.
