UCLA Basketball: Former Bruins Guard's Lackluster Summer League Showing Could Hurt NBA Chances
After having a rough Summer League, it will be unknown whether or not a certain former UCLA Bruin will be able to make an NBA roster this season.
Guard David Singleton signed a reported Exhibit 10 training camp deal with the Atlanta Hawks as an undrafted free agent this offseason and has had a hard time in his first NBA experience.
While coming off the bench for the Hawks' Summer League squad in Las Vegas this month, Singleton only averaged 4 points and 1.5 rebounds in two games.
Singleton was able to show off his shot which gave him a lot of success when he was in college.
In his second game, the forward shot 2-of-3 from long range en route to an eight-point performance in the Hawks' loss versus the Mavericks.
Now that the Summer League is over, the future for Singleton is unclear. His one-year contract is not guaranteed and his performance may not be good enough to earn him a two-way contract and a spot on the Hawks' G-League team.
Whether or not Singleton sticks with the Hawks, whoever he plays for next will be getting a reliable outside shot on its team.
