The Tennessee Volunteers and many other programs continue to get a jump start on future recruiting classes. The Vols recently extended an offer to Moody High School edge rusher Ba'Roc Willis, a 2027 prospect from Mobile, Alabama. The talented recruit measures around 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds. He recently spoke with Volunteer Country to detail his offer to Tennessee.
"It was a great feeling to receive my Tennessee offer," Willis stated to Volunteer Country. "My folks know of coach [Rodney Garner] and think he’s one of the goats coaching the defensive line position. The direction the Vols are heading has a lot of people excited." He did make it to a spring practice with the Volunteers around April 6th.
He talked about what caught his eye about the Volunteers. "The defensive scheme, Coach G, Coach [Tim] Banks, Coach [Josh] Heupel, and the fans is what catches my eye when considering Tennessee.” He dove deeper into what makes the coaches he listed special. "They seem to be able to vibe with us as kids. I saw them talking to a teammate at my school, Sidney Walton, and they seem cool."
Willis explains why the Volunteers are a top school in his current recruitment: "They’ve shown interest in me since last summer and are among the first schools to offer me. My family is big on showing love to those who show love to us, so I think they will stay at a top school for me."
