Aggies Dominate Sun Devils 4-0 with Prager & Power Hitting
On Friday evening at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, the No. 7 Texas A&M Aggies baseball team dominated the Arizona State Sun Devils with a 4-0 victory in the opening game of the Kubota Baseball Series.
With a potent offense highlighted by two powerful home runs and the stellar pitching performance of Ryan Prager, the Aggies extended their flawless 9-0 record. This shutout marked their fourth of the season, a testament to their defense.
Prager showcased his exceptional skills once again, pitching five scoreless innings and striking out eight batters en route to his third consecutive win. The southpaw has yet to surrender a single run in his impressive 16.2 innings on the mound for the maroon & white.
In relief, Evan Aschenbeck, also delivered a solid performance, allowing only one hit over four scoreless innings to secure his second save of the season.
The Aggies struck early, thanks to Braden Montgomery's fourth home run of the season in the first inning. Montgomery's three-run blast came after Gavin Grahovac and Jace LaViolette drew walks, setting the stage for big offense.
Caden Sorrell then added to the lead in the third inning with his first career home run, making it 4-0.
Prager and Aschenbeck, backed by these four runs, effectively contained Arizona State, allowing only one Sun Devil batter to reach second base for the duration of the game.
