Aggies Baseball Shuts Out McNeese in Season Opener 15-0

The Texas A&M Aggies season opener was far more than just a confidence booster and a high-scoring game.
With the crowd roaring in support, the Aggies delivered an impressive performance, shutting out McNeese with an emphatic 15-run victory, highlighted by multiple home runs. Starting pitcher Ryan Prager also stood out, contributing significantly to the team's commanding win.
The lefty impressed with a near-perfect game. In his five innings, Prager threw for a new career high with nine strikeouts, zero walks, and only allowed one hit on the night. After being out of the game for over 600 days and slowly making his return after surgery, so far it looks like the wait paid off.
Braden Montgomery, the Stanford transfer, and his two-time College World Series experience shined tonight making an immediate impact in his debut for the Aggies. Stepping up to the plate and delivering a home run in his very first at-bat. This electrifying start not only showcased Montgomery's talent but also provided a thrilling moment for Texas A&M fans. "I love people who love baseball and man does the 12th man love baseball," says Montgomery who ran around the bases throwing up the love sign to the crowd. 🤟
Although, Montgomery wasn't the lone Aggie displaying power tonight. Jace LaViolette delivered with two home runs, while Blake Binderup and Ali Camarillo Jr. followed suit adding one a piece to the tally.
While McNease may not be College World Series contenders, recording 17 hits and scoring 15 runs signifies a dominant offensive performance for the Aggies. Indicating the Aggies' lineup was firing on all cylinders, with multiple players contributing to the offensive onslaught.
As Coach Schlossnagle aptly put it, "the game flips it in a heartbeat...I trust our team, they know how to handle a win," emphasizing the importance of not underestimating McNeese in the upcoming game. The Aggies are scheduled to compete tomorrow at 2pm CST, with Justin Lamkin slated to start on the mound.
