2024 SEC Title Odds Revealed; Where Do Aggies Land?

The odds for the 2024 SEC Championship contenders have been revealed, and the Texas A&M Aggies are in a good position.

The SEC is set to get a facelift this summer, with the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners joining what is already arguably the best conference in college football.

And with that, the path for the Texas A&M Aggies - who have yet to make it to Atlanta for the SEC Championship - gets even harder.

So who do the oddsmakers favor for next year's title in the New Look conference?

BetOnline suggests that Georgia and Texas are set to be the teams to beat for Atlanta.

Conner Weigman

As for the Aggies, they are projected to finish eighth overall in the SEC, behind the aforementioned Texas and Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU and Missouri. They are, however, projected to finish ahead of the incoming Sooners.

That said, the Aggies will have every opportunity to improve that standing.

In 2024, the 12-year rivalry hiatus between Texas and Texas A&M is set to end, giving them a chance to measure themselves against a what is projected to be a top-two team in the conference.

Texas A&M also boasts a promising talent in quarterback Conner Weigman. Under the guidance of new coach Mike Elko, the team is expected to achieve a significant improvement, targeting a nine-win season.

Elko's knack for attracting top talent to College Station is evident in this recruiting success, laying a solid groundwork for the team's future. Moreover, the influx of 22 incoming transfers enhances Texas A&M's roster depth and competitiveness, offering Coach Elko a diverse pool of talent to shape into a formidable squad.'

Win totals are subject to change until late August, with spring practice yet to take place and another NCAA transfer portal window still open. Given that rosters are not completely finalized, it's probable that a surprise or two will emerge before the summer arrives.
