Richard Sherman Says David Shaw Would Be A 'Great' Hire For One NFL Team In Particular
While a couple of jobs have already been claimed around the NFL with both the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders hiring from within, there are a handful of enticing open positions.
Among the coaching pool of possible candidates for the openings are both former Stanford coaches Jim Harbaugh and David Shaw. They have both interviewed for the Chargers job, and Shaw is set to interview for the Tennessee Titans gig this weekend as well. However, former Stanford and NFL star Richard Sherman took to the app formerly known as Twitter on Thursday to reveal which opening he thinks is perfect for Shaw.
When it was first reported that Shaw had interviewed for the Chargers job, Sherman chimed in with a few reasons as to why he'd be the right hire for Los Angeles.
"Wait a minute @chargers," Sherman wrote on X "He should be your guy! Don’t let him leave the city! Great mind. Great leader. Great for the culture!"

Shaw who played his college football at Stanford and went on to become the program's all-time winningest head coach stepped down after the 2022 season. He led the program to two Rose Bowl victories in three appearances. His offense helped produce multiple Heisman runner-ups, and also produced Pac-12-high 43 players drafted.
He spent this past season as an analyst for the NFL Network's NFL GameDay Live.
