South Carolina's men's basketball team welcomes in Charleston Southern for the first game of their five-game home stretch.

Returning back to action after a seven-day recoup, the South Carolina Gamecocks will face Charleston Southern Buccaneers at the Colonial Life Arena this evening. The Buccaneers enters Saturdays contest having gone 1-4 in their last five ball games (3-6 overall).

The Bucs are surrendering 73.2 points per game; and averaging 3.2 less points offensively (70.0). RJ Johnson has been a bright star for Charleston So., averaging 18.2 points on 50 percent shooting from the floor, and has been on fire as of late, averaging 23.7 points per game in his last three outings.

For the Gamecocks, they earned a tough 68-62 road win over East Carolina last weekend thanks in part to a welcomed scoring performance by Myles Stute, who scored 15 points while shooting a blazing 60 percent from behind the arc (3-5). If Stute can remain consistent moving forward, it'll pay dividends for South Carolina with conference play right around the corner.
