ICYMI: Gamecock Signees Joyce Edwards & Madisen McDaniel Named McDonald's All-Americans
On Tuesday evening, the official list for the 2024 McDonald's All-American Girls game was released, and two South Carolina signees made the list; five-star forward Joyce Edwards and five-star point guard Madisen McDaniel.
Joyce Edwards
Edwards, a 6-foot-2 forward and the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2024 class per ESPN's HoopGurlz Rankings is the highest-rated player to come out of the Palmetto State since A'ja Wilson, who was the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2014 class. The Camden, South Carolina native led Team USA to a gold medal at the FIBA U19 World Cup this summer alongside current Gamecock forward Chloe Kitts.

Madisen McDaniel
McDaniel, a 5-9 point guard and the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2024 class per ESPN's HoopGurlz Rankings is a relentless guard who plays the game with a fiery passion, and that's primarily shown on the defensive end of the floor. Madisen excels at finishing through contact when driving to the basket and lives at the free-throw line; she's a guard that leaves it all on the court. Imagine a player whose skillset is a cross between Te-Hina Paopao and MiLaysia Fulwiley. That's Madisen McDaniel
USC is one of seven programs to have multiple 2024 signees selected for the All-American game; Gamecock fans can catch these future players in action on April 2 at the Toyota Center in Houston.
