USC Transfer Malcolm Epps Commits to Pitt

The Pitt Panthers have added a transfer tight end.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have used one of their three open scholarships on a transfer tight end. Malcolm Epps, a transfer who began his career at Texas and spent two seasons at USC, announced on his personal Instagram through a change of his bio that he would be joining the program this season.

It appears that Epps was on campus this week, as he posted a picture in a Pitt uniform from the practice facility on the same day he changed his bio.

Epps, a 6'6 and 255-pound former four-star recruit in the class of 2018, appeared in 15 games and caught 24 passes for 292 yards and four touchdowns with the Longhorns. He also rushed for 60 yards during the 2020 season. After transferring to USC in 2021, Epps played sparingly, appearing in 22 games and catching just 13 balls for 191 yards and three touchdowns over the course of the past two seasons.

How much eligibility Epps has remaining is unclear. He joins a tight ends room led by veteran Gavin Bartholomew and junior college transfer, Karter Johnson. The Panthers now have two open scholarships left to play around with.
