Pitt First to Offer SMU Transfer Dylan Goffney

The Pitt Panthers got in early on transfer receiver Dylan Goffney.

PITTSBURGH -- Wide receiver Dylan Goffney announced that he would transfer from SMU and less than an hour later, the offers began to pour in and leading the charge to submit an offer to the newly minted transfer were the Pitt Panthers.

After losing four wideouts to the transfer portal or graduation over the past six months, the Panthers have reached back into the portal to find new depth at that position. Goffney could be an answer for Pitt, who has three scholarships to use at the moment.

Goffney spent two years playing for the Mustangs, taking a step forward in his sophomore season. He played in 13 games last year, four of which were starts, and hauled in 18 catches for 369 yards - an average of 20.5 yards per reception - and two touchdowns.

The former three-star recruit from Cypress, Texas has also picked up offers from Western Kentucky, Arizona State, Bowling Green, West Virginia, UConn, Colorado and Louisiana-Monroe since entering the portal.
