Three Pokes to Watch in Oklahoma State's Upcoming Game Against Kansas State
Friday is nearly here, and Oklahoma State football is on the horizon. The Pokes need a win in a big way, and what better way to rebound than to get revenge on the Wildcats for last year's defeat in Manhattan. As the game plays out, players on both sides will begin to make their presence felt. Here are three Pokes that I believe will make an impact in a big way.
Ollie Gordon
Kansas State has a stifling rush defense, ranking sixth in the country, so if Ollie Gordon and the rest of the Cowboy offense is able to run the ball, it will be impressive to say the least. I don't expect a game in which the Pokes are dominant on the ground over a long period of time, but I do expect Gordon to break a couple and set Oklahoma State up in plus territory.
Alan Bowman
For the first time this season, Mike Gundy has officially announced who the starting quarterback will be before the day of the game. Despite a subpar outing against Iowa State two weeks ago, Bowman will start the game and get a chance to right the ship. One of my keys to this game (you can find that article here) was establishing the air attack early, and attacking a defense that is outside of the top 100 in passing yards allowed. If the Cowboys want to win this one, Bowman has to have success.
Kendal Daniels
Last but not least, we've got Kendal Daniels. Daniels has been one of the only bright spots on the defense so far, but he has a chance to make a massive impact on Friday. Whether it's helping out against the run, or keeping Will Howard and the receivers in check, Daniels needs to make his presence felt.
