Oklahoma State vs. Kansas: Top PFF Grades in Cowboys' Upset Win
The Oklahoma State Cowboys pulled off yet another upset win, this time coming against the No. 23 Kansas Jayhawks. With the new AP Poll Top 25 rankings coming out, the Cowboys knocked Kansas off the list, as both are now on the bubble of being ranked.
The Pokes beat the Jayhawks 39-32 in a high-scoring battle, and it was crucial play from Ollie Gordon that opened things up for the Cowboys. Also, a small note while looking at PFF: the Cowboys missed just three total tackles all game -- easily the best of the season.
Here are the top-ranked Cowboys performances from the win, according to PFF.
Collin Oliver, linebacker: While Oliver had the third-best rating, his overall box score looks the best. He had a 73.9 rating, which was put together by a performance of seven total tackles, 2.5 sacks and two passes deflected, doing a little bit of everything on the field.
Rashod Owens: Owens had another incredible game. He caught nine passes for 112 yards, though this isn't what PFF graded the highest for him, as he had a 75.9 rating on the game. He graded 82.8 in the run-blocking game, which boosted his overall grade.
Ollie Gordon: Gordon's performance helped highlight everyone's game, including center Joe Michalski, who had an 85.6 offensive grade to lead the team, with an 81.8 pass-blocking score and 80.4 run-blocking score.
Gordon, on the other hand, graded the third best of the offense. With a 74.9 overall grade, his best area of the game was in the passing game, where he graded 86.3 and 83.8 for his pass-blocking. He caught six passes for 116 yards and a touchdown.
On the ground, Gordon had a score of 69.0, with 29 carries and 168 touchdowns in the game. Though his grade wasn't the highest on the offensive side of the ball, it's hard to argue that he wasn't the most impactful.
