The Oklahoma State Cowboys are approaching a huge game. It's arguably the biggest game of their season. With a 6-2 record (4-1 in Big 12 play), the Cowboys are in striking distance of the Big 12 Championship game, but it's not without a win over Oklahoma first.

Again, for the Cowboys to be in this position after starting their season 2-2 and opening conference play with a loss against Iowa State is impressive.

"This team has made more strides in a 12-month period than any team I've been around," Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy said during his weekly presser.

Ollie Gordon's emergence, Alan Bowman receiving consistent starts, solid offensive line play and an improved defense are just among a few things that have helped the Cowboys' season turnaround.

Now, the Cowboys are facing their biggest challenge yet in Oklahoma. Ranked No. 10 nationally, the Sooners will be a big challenge for the Cowboys, who are incredibly hot after winning four straight games.

Not only does it have Big 12 Championship game implications, but it's the final Bedlam for the foreseeable future.

"People say it's a big game. I've said this for years: Every game is a big game," Gundy said. "Our team needs to approach this game with our concepts and our schemes against their concepts and their schemes."

When broken down like that, yeah, it's just as big a game as the rest of them. Without taking the other games as seriously as the final Bedlam, this game wouldn't hold any weight outside of being the final matchup between the two teams before the Sooners depart for the SEC.

With the historic matchup being played for the last time, both teams are fighting for the ability to be in the driver's seat for the Big 12 title game. The Cowboys have all of the momentum in the world and the Sooners are coming off two tough games, the most recent being a loss to Kansas.

This game has plenty of storylines and holds much weight for how this season could shake out. It's going to be entertaining.
