Ohio State Buckeyes Hire Jamall Walker to Coaching Staff

Jake Diebler has added another name to the Ohio State coaching staff.

The Ohio State Buckeyes hired Jake Diebler as their full-time head coach following the conclusion of the season.

And Diebler is wasting no time in building his program.

On the same day that five-star Marcus Johnson committed to the new-look program, Diebler also made the second coaching pickup of his young tenure, hiring assistant coach Jamall Walker from Grand Canyon.

“I could not be more happy to welcome Jamall and his family to the Ohio State basketball family,” Diebler said. “Jamall’s recruiting success, his experience in the Big Ten as well as working with a coach like Bryce Drew were all really important intangibles that I was looking for when filling out a staff. He's got a great defensive mind and a tremendous ability to connect with players. He’s going to be a great asset for our program.”

Walker Walker spent the last few seasons under Bryce Drew at Grand Canyon, helpong the Lopes win three WAC tournaments, and reach the NCAA tournament in those three seasons.

Walker also spent time coaching at Illinois under John Grace and Brad Underwood, even serving as the interim head coach before the hire of Underwood. Before his time in Champaign, Walker coached at Ohio, Arizona, Murray State, St. Louis, and Ball State.
