Mississippi State Women's Golf Team Ranked in Top 10 by Golfstat
Mississippi State came in at No. 7 overall when Golfstat, the lead ranking system in collegiate golf, announced its top 25 rankings on Tuesday. This comes on the heels on the women's gold team winning its third title this season in Las Vegas this past weekend.
MSU is one of the four schools ranked in the top 25 with three or more tournament wins this season.
One of the biggest highlights of this year's team is the dynamic senior-freshman duo that led the way in Vegas -- Hannah Levi and Izzy Pellot played a huge role in getting State in getting its first title of spring, shooting 9-under (855) over 54-holes. Pellot is also the reigning SEC Freshman of the Week.
Another one of the Bulldogs' biggest standoutsis Julia Lopez Ramirez, who was recently named SEC Golfer of the Week. This past weekend she climbed the leaderboard and tied for 12th place. Ramirez now has 16 top-20 finishes in 19 career events.
Following the weekend, she climbed from 10th to 8th in Golfstat rankings. The Bulldogs will return to the course March 4th-5th for the Annual Vystar Credit Union Gators Invitational in Gainesville, Florida.
