Report: Louisville to Host Eight Transfers Over Next Week
Just half of the Cardinals visitors were previously known.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Even more transfers are in line to visit the Louisville men's basketball program than previously thought.
According to The Field of 68's Jeff Goodman, the Cardinals will be hosting a grand total of eight transfer prospects over the next seven days - four more than originally known.
Colorado's J'Vonne Hadley will be visiting this upcoming Sunday, BYU's Aly Khalifa and Long Beach State's Aboubacar Traore will visit next Thursday, and Wake Forest's Kevin "Boopie" Miller will visit next Saturday.
Goodman also reported four previously known upcoming visits. Arizona's Oumar Ballo will visit on Tuesday, and Washington's Koren Johnson will join Miller next Saturday. Toledo's Dante Maddox Jr. and FAU's Nick Boyd are already currently on campus for visits, and were seen at Louisville's baseball's 14-10 win over Virginia earlier in the day.
Hadley, a 6-foot-6, 205-pound shooting guard, was one of Colorado's top players this past season. Playing and starting all but one of the Buffs' 37 games, Hadley averaged 11.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He also shot 53.8 percent from the field and 41.7 percent on three-point attempts.
Khalifa, a 6-11, 255-pound center, entered the portal with a "do not contact" tag, meaning he must initiate contact with a coach first. He averaged 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 29 games and 26 starts with BYU this season, while also shooting 38.6 percent from the field and 31.5 percent on threes.
Traore, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound power forward, has had a productive three-year career at Long Beach State. In 36 games and 31 starts this past seasons, he put up 12.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and a team-best 4.5 assists per game while also shooting 51.7 percent from the floor.
Miller, a 6-foot-0, 175-pound guard, was one of the best point guards in the ACC this past season. Starting all 35 games for Wake Forest, he averaged 15.6 points, 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 46.4 percent overall and 36.9 percent on threes.
Not long after the end of Louisville's disastrous 2023-24 campaign, one which resulted in the firing of second-year head coach Kenny Payne, the Cardinals' roster began to flip. In fact, all 12 of Louisville's scholarship players have entered the portal, with only walk-on guard Hercy Miller in line to return.
Fortunately, new head coach Pat Kelsey is already starting to work the portal. So far, Kelsey has landed three transfers since officially being named the new head coach on Mar. 28: guard Reyne Smith and center James Scott - both of whom are following Kelsey from Charleston - as well as former James Madison star and 2024 Sun Belt Player of the Year Terrence Edwards Jr.
