Kentucky Briefing: This stat is an excellent example of why the Cats will make a deep NCAA Tournament run
One of the big talking points early into the 2023-24 Kentucky basketball season has been how good the Cats are at assisting on baskets and not turning over the basketball.
The Wildcats pass the ball a ton, which leads to open shots and a lot of assists for the guards and even the forwards.
Thanks to the lack of turnovers and high amount of assists the Cats currently lead college basketball in assist/turnover ratio with a 2.56 ratio.
If you want an example of why this ratio is so good for Kentucky, look at the game they just played against the Miami Hurricanes.
The Cats assisted on 26 of 37, made field goals, and only turned the basketball over eight times.
If they do this, they won't lose, which they proved by blowing out the #8 team in all of college basketball.
It's also impressive that the Cats are doing this with freshman guards handling the ball nearly the whole game.
This Kentucky basketball team truly is just special.
