Former Kentucky basketball forward Daimion Collins hasn't carved out much of a role for LSU
Kentucky lost a handful of players to the transfer portal after the 2022-23 season and some of them are playing great with a significant role for their new team. That isn't the case for Daimion Collins, who hasn't had a big role for the LSU Tigers early into the 2023-24 season.
Collins has appeared in five of LSU's eight games, and in two of those appearances, he only played one minute.
He is averaging 4.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, 0.4 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game for the Tigers while playing a little under ten minutes a game.
LSU fans were excited to land Collins, but early into his career at a new SEC school, the forward hasn't been on the floor all that much.
Collins is definitely a bust compared to what he was supposed to be out of high school, being ranked the number 16 player in the 2021 class according to 247Sports composite rankings.
He is one of those players who can jump out of the gym and has more athleticism than imaginable but just hasn't been a great "basketball player."
It will be interesting to see what Collins's role looks like once SEC play begins, but if it is similar to what it is now, that would be next to nothing in meaningful games.
