Colorado's Deion Sanders gets fired up at players, saying ‘If one fighting, we all fight'
Deion Sanders wants to see his team show a little unity. Even if one player goes in for a skirmish, they all better jump in and be ready for a rumble. At least, that was his instructions earlier this week in practice.
The Hall-of-Famer was irate when he witnessed his offensive players not wanting to be involved in a fight initiated by safety Jaden Milliner-Jones, who threw running back Anthony Hankerson to the ground after the play was dead. Buffs offensive lineman Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan stood his ground against JMJ with several Buffs rushing to break it up.
"He just fought. I saw two of y’all walking off over there, and you got a teammate fighting. Where do they do that at?" Sanders via Well Off Media.
"If one fighting, we all fight. You understand that? I don't want to see y’all walking off when somebody’s fighting. Never again."
Sanders looks to bring the offense to the same level as the defense before the start of the season. Charles Kelly's crew has become the talk of CU's Fall Camp thus far and winning the day against the offensive front. The Buffaloes as a whole are in the process of ironing out errors on both sides of the ball before Coach Prime's debut with No. 17 TCU on Sept. 2.
It has been a process for Colorado to get to this point with a melting pot roster of over 70 new players. Sanders told reporters at CU's Media Day last Friday that the process for flipping the team had to be done.
Colorado has five ranked teams on the schedule going into the 2023 football season. The only Pac-12 team without an FCS opponent on the books this year.
