The Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team dropped four spots in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll following Sunday’s 65-59 home loss to then No. 17 Oregon State. Being No. 8 is the ranking is the lowest for JR Payne’s squad since the Week 8 poll released on December 25, when the Buffaloes were also ranked No. 8.

Colorado (20-4, 10-3 Pac-12) is one of six Pac-12 teams – No. 3 Stanford, No. 9 UCLA, No. 10 USC, No. 11 Oregon State and No. 22 Utah – ranked in the Top 25, the most of any conference. The ACC and Big XII each have five teams in this week’s poll. Undefeated South Carolina grabbed all 35 first-place votes to remain atop the poll, followed by Ohio State, Stanford, Iowa, and Texas to round out the Top Five.

The Buffaloes have five regular season games remaining before Pac-12 Tournament play begins next month. Friday, Colorado begins a three-game road stretch against ranked teams when they take on No. 22 Utah. The Buffaloes are 22-21 all-time against the Utes, but only 6-12 in Salt Lake City. The following week, Colorado travels to Los Angeles for the final time as members of the Pac-12 to face No. 10 USC (Friday, February 23) and No. 9 UCLA (Monday, February 26).
