Auburn's running back room is being slept on

Auburn has a really talented running back room heading into the 2024 season.

The Auburn football program is in year two of the Hugh Freeze era, and Tiger fans are hoping for some big wins in 2024.

For the most part, Auburn will have a lot of young players on the field in 2024, but one room that will be full of veteran leadership is the running back room.

The Tigers will have star running back Jarquez Hunter back this season to highlight this running back room. In 2023, Hunter ran for 909 yards on 159 carries, giving the junior a whopping 5.7 yards per carry. Hunter will look to hit the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career, and he could do it behind a solid offensive line.

The other running backs in this room are Damari Alston, Jeremiah Cobb, and Brian Battie.

Alston will likely be the running back two in this offense and is a player who could run for around 500 yards this season. Cobb is coming into his sophomore season, and he had a lot of elite flashes during his freshman season, which has Auburn fans excited about his future. Battie will be a gadget guy in this offense that we will see, but likely not a ton.

Despite having four excellent running backs, no one is considering this running back room as one of the best in college football. This room is full of talent and players who can all do different things.

The national media isn't talking enough about this running back room, but when the 2024 season comes to an end, running behind an upgraded offensive line, this group could be one of the best backfields in college football.
