Jadyn Ott’s comments are being put to use to motivate the defense

The Cal running backs comments have fired up the Auburn Defense.

As expected, the comments from the Cal Golden Bears' starting sophomore running back Jadyn Ott are being used as motivation to fire up the Auburn defense.

To refresh the memory, Ott said in Wednesday’s press conference that, “There’s a lot of focus on the name Auburn. But what I see on film is not really in comparison to what their name is. I just want to get that into my guys’ heads that a name doesn’t mean anything.” The young running back also added additional fuel to the fire by saying, “It will be really encouraging when we do get this win.”

Mike Gittens of The War Rapport tweeted on Friday that, “The video of Cal running back Jadyn Ott’s comments were shared in the defensive line meetings this week as a motivational piece. They took it personal.”

Considering the amount of passion that plays out on the gridiron week in and week out, it would be hard for any player to not look at Ott’s comments as an indictment of poor performance. The young man has provided excellent bulletin board material for the Auburn Tigers defensive front, and the coaching staff has put it to good use.

Be sure to tune in for the late kickoff Saturday evening at 9:30 CT to see how the Auburn Tigers respond to Ott’s statements on the field.
