Takeaways from Auburn basketball’s 94-73 win vs Georgia

The Tigers move to 17-5 on the season after an absolute beatdown of the Bulldogs.

Auburn got their revenge Wednesday night at Neville arena for the worst loss of their season. It felt like Auburn dunked on Georgia 30 times, and I can’t recall UGA getting a single stop tonight. Georgia hit nearly every shot they took in the second half and still lost by more than 20. It was Auburn’s night, they put on an offensive clinic. Here are a few takeaways from tonight’s game.

The Big 3 played well

When Johni Broome, Wendell Green Jr. and Allen Flanigan play well, Auburn wins. All three had incredible games tonight. They were efficient. They were a combined 22 of 32 for 59 points. Broome had 18 rebounds. Green and Flanigan were both 3 of 5 from behind the arc. Auburn is best when these three are their best players and they certainly were tonight.

The Tigers look back on track

Auburn had lost their last two games coming into tonight. Both teams were top 30 in different ranking systems and both shot the ball extremely well in those games. Fans may have worried if the Tigers we’re going to go on a slide and get in a funk, but they really bounced back tonight. Momentum will be important down the stretch as Auburn will play a lot of really good teams this month. Auburn remained ranked despite a tough week, and tonight was big for their confidence and psyche. The game against Tennessee in Knoxville this Saturday represents an opportunity for this team to make a national statement.

Auburn Basketball Recruiting is going really well

Today was a great day for Auburn basketball. Tahaad Pettiford committed to Bruce Pearl and the Tigers today over several blue bloods. He pushes Auburn into the top 4 of recruiting class rankings and the Tigers are not done yet. Labaron Philon is announcing his decision on Friday and could create a super class for 2024. The future is bright on the plains. It’s great to be an Auburn Tiger.
