Georgia Bulldogs Betting Info and Odds for SEC Championship
The Georgia Bulldogs made it to the SEC Championship game in each of the last three seasons. Can they make it four in a row but reaching the title game in 2020? DawgsDaily writer Brooks Austin joined SI Gambling Insider Frank Taddeo for a look at Georgia’s win total, odds to win the college football playoffs, and odds to win the SEC Championship.
Austin recently wrote about Georgia’s odds to win the SEC and says it will be a tough task given the stars they lost to the NFL but the bulldogs should be up for it: “ On the offensive side of the ball, Georgia loses its leading rusher in D'Andre Swift and three-year veteran QB, Jake Fromm to the NFL as well as three veteran offensive linemen in Andrew Thomas, Solomon Kindley, and Isaiah Wilson.

Bill Enright: The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to be one of the better teams in college football in 2020. Let's get the full breakdown by talking to Brooks Austin from Dawgs Daily and Frank Taddeo, one of our gambling insiders here at Sports Illustrated. Frank, I'm going to start with you. Give us a rundown of all the different bets when it comes to their overall win total of the SEC championship. Even the national championship. What do you got?
Frank Taddeo: Yeah. Bill, for the Georgia Bulldogs over at Pointsbets sportsbook, they have their season win total projection set at 10 wins, slightly juiced to the under at minus a $1.15.
For their overall college football playoff odds, we see them at 12 to 1, easily the biggest odds that they have on the board. For them to win the SEC championship, they're actually at 5 to 1, ranked behind Alabama and LSU as well. But for me, I think it's better served by looking at their SEC East Divisional wagering. For that market, they're only a slight favorite at odds of minus $1.10 right now over Florida. That's really going to come down to a coin flip and it's going to come down to a coin flip that's going to obviously lean heavy into Georgia's favor. Why? Because this particular market and that division may come down to that one game.
And that one game is going to be played between the hedges in Athens. Right now, the oddsmakers have them as 3.5-point early favorites in early line betting. So for me, I actually find value there because they are home and they have the home-field advantage and the crowd will be into it. The defense will be pumped. Give me the Georgia Bulldogs to win the SCC East Division at odds of minus $1.10 as the best bet on the board, bill.
Bill Enright: Alright, Brooks. Let me go over to you. No one knows Georgia football better than you, my friend. So break it down for us. Which way do you think we should go on some of these bets?
Brooks Austin: Yeah, I think the over-under right there set at 10 wins is a little bit low for me. I see a one-loss football team basically in 2020 for the University of Georgia. Getting Alabama on the road early in the year, this is a football team that's got a new offensive coordinator. They're working in seven or eight new offensive starters, including a new quarterback. That third-week matchup against Alabama in Tuscaloosa is not necessarily boding well for the Georgia Bulldogs at this point. But after that, I mean, you get Auburn at home. Your toughest road game after that is at Missouri. They go to South Carolina and play the Gamecocks, The schedule's not really that tough this year. They've dominated Florida since Kirby Smart's arrival down there in Jacksonville. Neutral site football game. And honestly, you know, Florida's really struggled to run the football lately. They're not going to have any benefits this year with La'Mical Perine headed off to the NFL. So we'll see. Georgia is going to end up making him one dimensional there in Jacksonville and that's pretty much going to decide the SEC East as it has for the last three years. So Georgia looking to win their fourth SEC East divisional title and I think it's a good bet to say that they will.
